Mark Minick, Designer

“I have a relationship with every one of my clients.”

Mark developed a passion for design and a desire to help people make design decisions when as a young man he took a job working as a floor salesman for a local furniture store.

After 16 years of experience that passion and that desire are still strong. When beginning a design project for a home, “I spend at least an hour with the clients to know how they live, what their jobs are, what their children like to do. Because I want the house to reflect them, I want the house to work for them and I want the family to be happy and proud of their home.”

In renovating an historic building in downtown Americus for a local law firm, Mark worked with the clients to create a space that reflected their distinctive style, yet conveyed the elegance and simplicity of the Southern tradition. Starting out with shell of a building and a drawing on a napkin, Mark designed a space with room to grow, “It won’t be just these three partners for the duration. Hopefully, this firm will grow.”

Whether the client is former President Jimmy Carter or a young person just starting out with his or her first condo, Mark brings his signature style of clean lines, lush textures and warm colors to create interiors of comfort that reflect each client’s unique character.

Mark was one of the designers selected to have his work featured in Panache Partners’ Spectacular Homes of Georgia: An Exclusive Showcase of Georgia’s Finest Designers. His own home is a showplace of his eclectic tastesand was included in the 2007 Sumter County Christmas Tour of Homes. It will also be the featured home for Southwest Georgia Living 2009 Holiday issue.
